  1. What does Catawba offer in scholarship opportunities?
    Catawba offers a variety of competitive Academic Scholarship Opportunities:

    • First Family Scholarships: Catawba's most prestigious merit scholarhip with awards up to full tuition

    • Catawba Scholarships and Grants: Available to student with outstanding academic achievements, leadership and character.

    • Performance Scholarships: Available for talented students in Theatre and Music

  2. Are athletic scholarships available to athletes since Catawba is a Division II school?
    Absolutely. If you are interested in athletic scholarships you need to contact the coaches from the sport you are interested in. Visit our Athletics Directory to get the contact information for the coach of the specific sport you are interested in.

  3. Can I be guaranteed a scholarship or financial aid before attending?
    Academic scholarships and grants from Catawba are based on minimum GPA and SAT/ACT scores. A student asking for government financial aid must fill out a FAFSA form before the March 15th deadline. Financial aid can never be "guaranteed" for a student until he/she is accepted and enrolled, but estimates can be given. Contact the Financial Assistance Office at 1-800-CATAWBA for more information.

  4. What is the tution and room & board costs?

  5. Are the cost and fees different for out-of-state or international students?
    Catawba does not charge any additional fees for out-of-state students. Tuition and fees are the same for all students, whether they are in-state, out-of-state or international full-time students.

  6. How do I apply for scholarships at Catawba?
    You are automatically reviewed for scholarships at the time of your acceptance to Catawba. There is not a formal application for scholarships with the exception of the requirements for the First Family Scholarship competition.

  7. How do I apply for financial aid?
    Catawba uses the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You must list our code number, 002914, in order for us to receive the results electronically. Our priority filing deadline is March 15th. The website is www.fafsa.ed.gov.

  8. When will Catawba contact me about my financial aid?
    We will send you an "Award Package" approximately 2-4 weeks after you file the FAFSA and have been accepted to Catawba College.

  9. If I have questions, who should I contact?
    Please call the Financial Aid Office at 1-800-CATAWBA, or locally at (704) 637-4416. We have an experienced financial aid staff that will be most happy to answer any questions or assist you with the application process.

  10. How can I apply for a loan online?
    You can now apply for a loan online through the Direct Loan program.
