PUBLIC NOTICE DESIGNATING DIRECTORY  INFORMATION

March  8, 1999

Catawba College  hereby designates the following student information as public or "Directory Information." Such information may be disclosed by the institution for any purpose, at its  discretion.

  • Permanent Phone Number
  • Cell Phone Number
  • Date and Place of Birth
  • Dates of Attendance
  • Major/Minors
  • Classification
  • Academic Honors
  • Degree and Date Awarded
  • Parents' Names
  • Student Schedules
  • Photographs
  • Student Load
  • Participation in officially recognized activities and sports, and height and weight of an athlete

Currently  enrolled students may withhold disclosure of directory information under the  Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. To withhold disclosure, written notification  must be received in the Registrar's Office at Catawba College  on or before the last day to add a class effective the semester the student wants  to exercise his rights.

Catawba College  assumes that failure on the part of any student to specifically request the  withholding of "Directory Information" while enrolled indicates individual  approval for disclosure.
