"Science in Dialogue with Culture in Britain, 1660-2000," Drs. Joe Poston (Biology) and Gordon Grant (English) will be leading a trip to London, England during Spring Break in March 2017.

The trip will focus on the history of the city with special attention to the growth of scientific discourse, particularly Charles Darwin and evolutionary theory, and how British culture responded to this new worldview.

The group will visit major landmarks and museums in addition to covering much of the city on foot; the goal is to extensively explore central London as well as more distant parts of the city such as Highgate Cemetery, Kew Gardens, and Down House.

Additionally, they will make day-trips to the city of Salisbury and the nearby World Heritage site Stonehenge as well as the campus of Cambridge University.
