Energy Usage on Campus

Tracking Catawba's Campus Energy Usage

In an effort to monitor and control its energy costs, Catawba has partnered with Duke Energy on a yearlong energy management pilot program based on digital, smart grid technology. Seven large buildings on campus are equipped with digital smart meters that gather energy usage data for each building. The data is transmitted wirelessly back to Duke Energy and to members of the campus community and the public at large below on this campus-metering web page. REFRESH DATA

This data will also make its way into Catawba's classrooms as part of the content in sustainability courses offered in several academic majors.

This program has now ended.
