Meredith Fox

Meredith's passion and heartbeat is dance. She has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, American-Style ballroom, latin, and swing, and Argentine tango. Meredith also loves pantomime, any type of mask work, such as Commedia dell'Arte, and creating theatre from physical, ensemble-based approaches.

Meredith earned her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and minors in Dance and Music from Catawba in 2007. She earned her M.F.A in Physical Theatre at Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy. She joined the Theatre Arts Faculty in 2013, and has previously worked in Catawba's Admissions Office as a counselor for prospective students.  

Meredith has performed as a dancer, actor, and singer in a number of productions across the Atlantic Coast with companies including The Lost Colony and Zany Umbrella Circus, and in such venues as Central Park's Summer Stage and Mass MoCA Museum. Meredith has worked in the Fred Astaire Franchised Ballroom Dance Studios as a certified dance instructor and professional competitor in the American Smooth division. She has choreographed for various dance, musical, and physical theatre productions, including various dance concerts, local "Dancing with the Stars"-type fundraising events, How to Succeed in Business..., The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Mirette's Circus, Fischiando nel Buio, Un Cabaret per i Giorni Strani, and The Judgement of Don Quixote.

When you can tear her away from the dance floor, Meredith enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching old movies, traveling the world, and eating.
