Meredith Fox

Meredith Fox is a performing artist, choreographer, and movement director.  She has toured with physical theatre companies including Creatively Independent, Zany Umbrella Circus, and Quasi Mondo to theatres across the East Coast, Italy, and Germany.  Additionally, she was a certified dance instructor and professional competitive ballroom dancer for Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios.  Since joining the performance faculty in 2013, she has actively participated in the Salisbury and Charlotte theatre communities, choreographing and performing for Lee Street Theatre, St. Thomas Players, and CPCC Summer Theatre.  Some of her favorite roles include A Chorus Line (Cassie), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), A Doll’s House (Nora), and Henry V (Constable). 

She earned her M.F.A in physical theatre at Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy, training in various mask styles, Commedia dell’Arte, pantomime, acrobatics, clown, circus, and cabaret.  She earned a B.F.A. in musical theatre and minors in dance and music from Catawba.  Her dance training spans across ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, American-Style ballroom, latin, swing, and Argentine tango.  She also earned a level II teaching certification of Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS).

On campus, she teaches courses in dance, movement, and musical theatre, and choreographs and directs for Catawba’s theatre productions and dance concerts.  When not on campus, she and her husband enjoy being foodies, watching movies, dancing, and traveling the globe.
