Biography
Robert Casmus, Instructor - ATC-L, Temple University; M.S., University of Arizona. Robert J. Casmus is in his tenth year as head athletic trainer at Catawba College, instructor overseeing the athletic health care and the athletic drug testing and education program of the Catawba athletes.

A native of Sinking Spring, Pa., Casmus earned a master's degree in exercise and sports science from the University of Arizona in 1985. During that time, he worked as head trainer at Palo Verde High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in health education from Temple University in 1983 and during his time in the Pennsylvania area, he worked as an athletic trainer for St. John Neumann High School, and as a summer intern for the Philadelphia Eagles. In addition, Casmus completed the Advanced Athletic Training Program at West Chester University in 1983 and is a certified EMT in the state of North Carolina.

Prior to his current position, Casmus was the head athletic trainer at Chowan College (1985-1990). He also volunteered at the 1987 Pan American Games and was an intern at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in 1988. He served on the athletic training staff for the 1990 Olympic Sports Festival in Minneapolis, MN. Casmus was head trainer for the United Football League exhibition game in Taipei, Taiwan in July of 1994. He currently serves as both a test site administrator and on the practical examination development committee for the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification. In June of 1998 he was appointed the MAATA District III representative on the NATA's Public Relations Committee.

Casmus and his wife Teresa reside in Salisbury. Teresa is a pharmacist with Option Care and the Medicine Shoppe in Salisbury. They have a son, Will, who was born in March of 1999.
