This is a reminder that all students planning to attend other colleges this summer must secure WRITTEN permission in the form of a LETTER OF GOOD STANDING from the Registrar's Office before leaving campus in May. Permission will not be given via the telephone. Please bring a catalogue course description for each course in which you plan to enroll.
Courses taken without the prior approval of the Registrar may not be accepted for credit by Catawba College. The following guidelines apply to transient work (courses taken elsewhere.)
The Registrar must approve all courses BEFORE beginning the course.
Grades of "D" or "F" earned at Catawba cannot be repeated elsewhere. Courses required for the major must have the prior approval of the department chair as well as the registrar.
Only grades of "C" or better will count toward semester hours passed. No grade points will be awarded. This means students cannot raise the GPA's by taking summer courses elsewhere.
Official transcripts for course work taken elsewhere must be sent to the Catawba College Registrar within 30 days after completion. Students must request the transcript in writing from The Registrar's Office of the institution they attended.
Students having earned 90 or more semester hours who propose to take transient work must secure written permission from the Academic Policies and Standards Committee.
