Continue your Catawba education as you experience the talents of current Catawba faculty. Sit in on a class and learn something new! Come by the Alumni Office Friday morning to pick up a list of available classes, times and locations. Or, request the list after October 1st by email to

    Start the weekend off right! Join us for a round of Captain's Choice golf, a delicious southern pig pickin', lots of fun & prizes.
    • Advance payment is required to reserve your spot. Please reserve early.
    • Teams of less than four will be placed with other players.
    • Pig pickin' and complimentary team photos begin at 11:30 before play begins. Please arrive early to check-in.
    • Players must be at least 21 years old. Not open to current students.

    Come to the gym lobby and see who has arrived from your Catawba years! Check-in, pick up your reserved tickets, get a nametag, mingle and sign the "Who's Here?" board. Your classmates will be looking for you!

    Cheer and jump instruction, as well as team photo, with THE Catawba College cheerleaders. Also, meet the squad on the track for game warm up from 11:30am to noon. Pre-register to ensure a game day gift but walk-ups accepted. [Read More | Sign-Up]

    Are you curious what some of the buildings are being used for these days? Bringing a prospective student with you to Homecoming? See the old and the new! Join the student-led walking tour of campus.

  • 11:00am-1:00pm — Barbecue Luncheon featuring local favorite "Gary's BBQ" of China Grove!
    Goodman Gymnasium (Abernethy Physical Education Center)
    Do not miss your chance to enjoy some of North Carolina's best pork barbecue with all the sides! Catch up with retired faculty and staff as well as your alumni friends. Presentation of the Distinguished Alumnus Awards will begin at noon followed by the re-dedication of Goodman Gymnasium. We appreciate your pre-registration!

    Outdoor Volleyball Courts (at the smoke-stack)
    English major alumni please stop by to reconnect with faculty and to meet current majors at the first annual Homecoming Cookout. Burgers, brats and cold drinks will be served under the blue tent. Look for the banner!

  • 12:00 noon — Distinguished Alumnus Awards
    Goodman Gymnasium (Abernethy Physical Education Center)

    Given by the Alumni Association, these awards honor select individuals who have served their community, distinguished themselves in their profession, and have served the Catawba College community. Come discover the recipients, witness the presentations, and celebrate the contributions and accomplishments during the barbecue luncheon.

  • 12:15 pm — Rededication of Goodman Gymnasium
    Goodman Gymnasium (Abernethy Physical Education Center)
    After you have finished your barbecue and congratulated the award recipients, stick around as we rededicate Goodman Gymnasium and recognize those who worked tirelessly to make the improvements happen!

  • 12:30 pm — Calling ALL Alumni!

    Music major or not, you are invited to join the student choir in singing the National Anthem prior to the football game. Brief rehearsal begins at 12:30 p.m.

  • 1pm — Class of 1965 ... 50-YEAR REUNION!
    Hurley Press Box (Shuford Stadium)

    Come celebrate your very special reunion as guests of President Lewis during the football game on Saturday. Your nametag and "Class of 1965" ribbon will grant you and one guest elevator access to the President's level of the Hurley Press Box. Please pre-register so we can have a packet waiting for you!

    1990s alumni band Lunchbox reunites! ALL alumni and friends are invited to DJs Restaurant for a night of Marvin Gaye, Dave Matthews Band, Hootie, Jimi Hendrix and more. Band members include Tom Hedrick, Don Lynott, Kevin Leonard, Shawn P. Terry, Scott Mumford and Trey Cutrell! Do they still "have it?" You bet they do!
