"Preparing for the Winterfest Ball was a last minute excursion. The day of, my friend Susan Hearn and I went to Concord Mills to look for dresses. We hit the jackpot and both found black dresses on the clearance racks. I only spent 15 dollars for my short, sleeveless, high neck black dress. We got back from the mall at eight and got ready. My roommates (Danielle Schneider, Jenn Layton, and Megan Spidell) and I had friends over in our apartment to have light refreshments and take photos before the dance. It was fun because all four of us have slightly different friends, so what seemed like a "random crowd" was a blast.
Apparently, my boyfriend and date for the evening, Dan Ryan, also went shopping that afternoon. He found a rose-colored suit jacket at Goodwill for $3.75. Dan paired it with grey dress pants and a pastel tie. He got some laughs at first but surprisingly he pulled it off and got a ton of compliments when we got to the
dance! We made sure to get a photo together at the photography station and danced for the rest of the evening with our friends. It was a great, last Winterfest for us seniors." - Jill
