Sophomore Nicu Brouilette of Tampa, Fla.
- What was your favorite experience on this trip?
“My most meaningful experience was playing in Mozart’s cathedral. He is my favorite composer and to have been able to play his music in his church with his successor was a once in a lifetime experience.”
- How has your perspective changed on this trip?
“The thing I actually thought was the most interesting perspective was the fact that in our hotels there were no wash cloths or any A/C in some of the houses we stayed in. I learned that they are a people that like to conserve and preserve.”
- What have you learned through your experiences?
“I learned on this trip that when you have a group as kind and as talented as this, magic can happen when we go into a performance mode and the incredible power of music. Also, how much we do not appreciate music in the United States. If we had half of the appreciation we would be better off than we are now. Lastly, I gained an appreciation for chapels, churches and cathedrals. I love them architecturally as well as historically. It was great to see how detailed every part of them was.”
