Junior Katie Higgins of Durham
- What was your favorite experience on this trip?
“My favorite experience on the trip would probably be traveling with this specific group of people to all of these wonderful and beautiful places. I don’t think it would have been the trip it was without these people. I have become so close with everyone and experiencing Notre Dame, Mozart’s church, the restaurant last night, everything together that’s what made this special to me. Being able to travel with my family – with people I respect and love. I cherish the opportunities and time we have had together, especially before the seniors are gone.”
- How has your perspective changed on this trip?
“The thing I learned most on this trip was how young America is. All of these places -- Germany, Austria, Paris -- everywhere we visited have these old historic buildings that each have a story of their own. Every corner of every street was a Kodak moment and I will never forget any of it.”
- What have you learned through your experiences?
“I think this trip has really opened my eyes about how little I do know about the world. When coming here, I didn’t even have an image of what these places would be like. Now, I am a world traveler and have all of these images of how the world and the people of the world are and how amazing it all is. I don’t think I could have ever realized this through reading. I had to get out here and experience it and take it all in and I am so grateful I got the opportunity to do so.”
