Adult Traveler Dennis Jewett of Salisbury
- What was your favorite experience on this trip?
“Going to the church in the meadow on the way to Munich and singing for the people at the end of mass was my favorite experience. The woman who burst into tears during the Russian piece and the fact that this is a pilgrimage destination for those seeking healing.”
- How has your perspective changed on this trip?
“People are people. Our countries don’t agree mostly for economic reasons. On a human level, we can feel strong connections despite language differences, cultural differences, geographic differences. Music and sincere express of what we understand in it reaches out and touches people we don’t know.”
- What have you learned through your experiences?
“Looking at the ornateness of Baroque architectures, I understand the ornateness and symmetry of Bach and the other great Baroque musicians. We adjust singing to every acoustic. These wonderful acoustics allow us to understand what composers were expecting to hear.”
