Sophomore Ashton Tibbitt of Sanford
- What was your favorite experience on this trip?
"My favorite memories of this trip would have to be the impromptu performances we gave in hotel lobbies, restaurants, outside, and the ‘surprise’ church visits. It was a wonderful experience to be able to give strangers unexpected gifts of beautiful music."
- How has your perspective changed on this trip?
"I definitely hadn’t realized just how ‘normal’ most of the people here are. In my home stay, the family all worked, vacationed, and went to school just like my family at home would have. As a theatre major, I enjoyed getting to hear about the children’s experiences with their recent school production of "Mama Mia.”
- What have you learned through your experiences?
"I never knew that there was so much open land in Europe. We drove around for a large portion of this trip and 95% of everything we saw on this trip was countryside. I also never realized how densely packed the cities were. Everything was built right on top of everything else and the entire city was pretty much walking distance. This is in sharp contrast to Salisbury and places like where I grew up where everything is spread far apart.”
