Getting Whipped into Shape
by Katlyn Shaw '15
OMIGOD YOU GUYS! On Monday I started rehearsals for our fall musical, Legally Blonde. I am so unbelievably excited to be apart of this show. Of course this means that I am beyond busy now, but that is something I am completely okay with. Spending my evenings learning music and choreography and blocking is exactly my idea of a perfect night. In the show, which I am sure you will all come see, I am a Delta Nu girl, part of the "Greek Chorus," and a Perfume Saleswoman; along with other things. I get to be in so many facets of the show that my nights are quickly filling up.
And when I am not in rehearsals I am doing homework or choreographing for my own dance as a part of this semester's Dance Ensemble. Yes, my life is insanely busy; and I would be lying if I said that I didn't miss being able to sit in my room and watch movies with my roommate. This life though doesn't leave a lot of time for the simple things. That is something you should always remember that when considering majoring in theatre. There is so much to do that sometimes you have to miss out on the little things, The feeling of being onstage makes it all worth it though. You just have to remember that whenever you start to feel run down or tired. It is all completely worth it. Every moment of sweat, knee pain, and (occasionally) tears is worth that incredible feeling of the lights on your skin as you walk on stage.
Well, it's time to get to some more homework, but don't worry I will be back very soon!
