Guest Instructions

  • Every person entering the Chapel for Graduation must have a ticket.
  • Each graduating senior is allocated the same number of tickets based on the total number of graduates divided into the number of seats available.
  • Catawba College is not responsible for lost tickets.
  • The theatres may only be entered through the main doors.
  • The tickets are numbered sequentially for tracking purposes. The numbers on the tickets are not seat numbers. Seating is General Admission. Ushers will guide you to the closest available seats. Your party must be together when you enter in order to sit together. "Saving" seats is strongly discouraged.
  • If you need wheelchair accommodation please let Mrs. Margaret Faust know. We require 48 hours notice to convert regular seating to wheelchair locations.
  • Wheelchair locations may not be available without prior notice. These seats are allotted on a first come, first served basis. Please contact Mrs. Faust as soon as possible.
  • The ushers cannot allow "saving" seats for absent party members or empty seats between parties on a row. Our goal is to seat family groups together if possible. We ask that early arrivals sit toward the center of rows without leaving empty seats between family groups. This will make seating later groups easier and will allow more parties to sit together.
  • Please decide in advance how you will split up if that becomes necessary.
  • If you arrive forty-five minutes or less before the starting time for the ceremony you may not be able to sit together.
  • If you arrive after the procession begins you will be seated if seats are available in locations that will not disturb the ceremony.
  • We encourage guests with small children to sit in the rear, which will provide easy access to fretful baby areas.
  • We must remind you that everyone must be in a seat. Fire and safety laws do not allow sitting or standing in the aisles.
