The Catawba College Chapter strives to do just this at different events throughout the year. On November 9, Megan Hampton, Megan Chichester, Sarah Cranfill, Anna Fields, Rhonda Elder and Courtney Foster participated in a reading event at the Livingstone Head Start Center.

Students read Thanksgiving-themed stories to classes of 3 and 4 year olds. The children and teachers were very excited about having Catawba College students come visit them. After this event concluded, we decided that this is a great connection within our community that we need to work to make stronger. We plan to return to the center in the very near future to do more literacy events among other great things with the children.

We would like to thank Mrs. Martika Nelson for her assistance in helping to make this event possible!
