Catawba College Alumna and Colleague to Perform on Campus

Catawba College Alumna Kim Butler '02 of Charlotte, a native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and her colleague, Kimberly Shive of Charlotte, a native of Greenville, N.C., will perform in a voice recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 in Tom Smith Auditorium on the Catawba campus.

Butler earned her master’s of music degree in vocal performance from Appalachian State University in 2006. She has performed with Opera Carolina in their production of   "Porgy and Bess" and will perform with that company again as a chorus member in the production of "Aida."

Shive, who like Butler also earned her master’s of music degree in vocal performance from Appalachian in 2006, is a member of the Oratorio Singers of Charlotte. She has performed with the National Opera Company and the Opera Company of North Carolina.

The performance is free and open to the public.
