Catawba College Announces Upcoming Continuing Education Offerings

realestate-ceu.jpgWith Rowan County native Jan Corriher-Smith in place at Catawba College as Director of Continuing Education, registration is open for upcoming classes that are scheduled.

Catawba’s Continuing Education program will offer a Notary certification class in November 7th and registration is available online at www.catawba.edu/ceu.  Planned program offerings for January 2018 include Notary, E-Notary, Real Estate CE, and Medical Code Training which begins January 8.  For more information, contact Corriher-Smith directly at jecorrih@catawba.edu or 704-637-4421 (office).  Her office is located in room 327 in the Ketner School of Business on campus. 

medical-coding.jpgIn her role in Catawba’s Ketner School of Business, Corriher-Smith works with faculty, local businesses, and regional employers to develop and offer short-term classes and seminars that allow employees in a variety of fields to obtain or maintain certifications in areas such as Notary, E-Notary, Medical Coding, Accounting, Law and Education.  She will also work with regional employers such as banks, hospitals, and automobile dealerships to customize on-site classes.

Corriher-Smith left her position as Director of Customized Training and Development at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College where she has served for the past 14 years.  There, she was responsible for working directly with business and industry and the general public to coordinate and deliver high quality occupational and certification training in Rowan and Cabarrus counties.  She also has served as a part-time instructor in the RCCC Business and Marketing Department.
