Catawba College Theatre Students Recognized

Several students in Catawba College’s nationally ranked theatre arts program have recently been recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for their skill and expertise in several areas of theatre production, including direction and criticism.

Senior David Loudermilk of Richmond, Va. who directed Catawba’s fall production of “A New Brain,” was named the KCACTF Region IV Student Assistant Director Finalist.   David will advance to KC/ACTF competition in Washington, D.C. for the Directors’ Project.

Junior Jared Wietbrock of Loganville, Ga., who provided criticism for productions entered in ACTF regional competition, received an award as the 2005 Region IV O¹Neill National Critics Institute Scholarship runner-up.
