Kathleen Burris '16 of Mt. Pleasant was lead author on the paper that she co-authored with Dr. Sheila Brownlow and Katherine Lins '15 of Philadelphia, Pa.

Their study, which began in spring 2014 and continued through spring 2015, examined how priming the potential benefits of moderate or extreme fitness in advice articles influenced self- and other-judgments of internal and external psychological qualities, including perfectionism and preferences for physical slimness.

An earlier version of the research authored by Kathleen Burris garnered her the national Alpha Chi Edwin Gaston Research Award.
