logo-ncpleinair.jpgCatawba College will be one of the sites in Rowan County hosting painters who are participating in the two-day "Plein Air Paint Out" on August 14 and 15. Participating painters will spend two hours painting at their top choices among the county sites and then will display their paintings from the various venues during a reception and show at the F&M Trolley Barn between 7 and 9 p.m. August 15.

Hosting painters for Plein Air painting, or "painting in the open air," is yet another way that the College is pursuing several of the initiatives in its strategic plan including 1) to develop programs and experiences that enhance Catawba’s ties with the Salisbury community and other regional communities; and 2) to develop and implement policies and procedures regarding public art on campus.
