Holiday Danceworks Kicks Off the Season

Lion DanceThe Catawba College Theatre Arts presents Holiday Danceworks at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, December 1 and 2, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 3 in Keppel Auditorium of the Robertson College-Community Center.

Theatre Arts Professor Missy Barnes directs Holiday Danceworks which will include 16 total dances, 13 of which are student choreographed, two of which are choreographed by faculty, and one which is a traditional Japanese Dance. Each of the dances has a seasonal theme to it, including general holiday cheer, Christmas, Hanukkah, Japanese New Year, Epiphany Eve, All Hallows Eve, the Hogbetsotso Festival, and the Winter Solstice.

The lighting for all 16 dances is designed by students enrolled in this semester’s Stage Lighting Class.
