Accreditation
As a new program, the MHS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling will be seeking full program accreditation for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The accreditation application process, per CACREP, initiates when the program’s first cohort is entering their final semester in the program. The CMHC program has been developed in accordance to the specifications outlined by CACREP, including all 87 standards within the eight core curriculum domains, as well as all programmatic, departmental, and institutional requirements. Additional information pertaining to CACREP and counseling program accreditation can be found at www.cacrep.org.
The CMHC program at Catawba College looks forward to becoming a CACREP-accredited program, and details regarding this process will be updated on this webpage as the process begins.
