Dr. Hake joined Catawba in 2010. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Hake is Secretary to The Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE), an international organization of economists and other social scientists devoted to analysis of economics as evolving, socially constructed and politically governed systems. AFEE publishes the Journal of Economic Issues (JEI). |

Teaching: Dr. Kenneth Clapp has many responsibilities at Catawba, from campus chaplain to Senior Vice-President in the campus administration to part-time teacher in the Religion & Philosophy department, and he has now been selected to be the Director of the Lilly Center for Vocation and Values at Catawba. With professional experience in advertising and retailing fields, Dr. Chatvijit-Cook’s teaching focuses on branding, marketing strategy, and consumer research. Her research interest includes non-ownership economy and consumer behavior in the retail environments. She joined Catawba College in 2017 with a goal to provide Catawba students with real-business based opportunities and first-hand experiences of business owners, entrepreneurs, and marketers from well-known brands such as Food Lion, YMCA, and other local companies. |

Dr. Jennifer Yurchisin is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing at Catawba College. Prior to joining Catawba in 2017, she taught at Texas State University, the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and the University of Minnesota. In addition to teaching, Dr. Yurchisin conducts research on consumer behavior and the retail industry. Her research has been published in the International Journal of Consumer Studies, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management,Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, Journal of Business & Psychology, and others. In 2010, she co-authored the textbook, Fashion and the Consumer for Berg Publishers. When she’s not at Catawba, Dr. Yurchisin may be volunteering at a thrift store or an animal shelter or just spending time with her dog, Morticia. |
