Q&A with Jeffrey Bowe
What is your particular interest in your field? Why?
I have been sold to too many bad times, and I have managed too many at best average salespeople who thought they were great. There is no reason that sales cannot be done honorably with ethics and integrity. Sales is the lifeblood of any business, and done well, can create more revenue and opportunity for the business than the shareholders ever imagined. Today's new hires are tomorrow's leaders, so knowing how and where to recruit is a critical long term strategic success factor. Hiring the right potential and then training them in the right relational approach is what will help grow our economy for the next millennium.
What is one thing that no one knows about you but you wish they did?
My friends know me well so there probably isn't anything that no one knows. Few know that I really love public speaking and that a microphone is energizing to me, and if possible, I would do it every day.
If you could be someone else who would it be and why?
Neil Peart of the band Rush, the world's greatest drummer, although losing his only daughter (age 19 died in a car accident on the way to college) and his wife (cancer) within 10 months would be a horrible burden to bear, followed by being the 45th president.
Share a couple of items that are on your bucket list:
- Taking a month long motorcycle trip through the northern U.S.
- Owning a heavily modified Mopar muscle car.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Academic dishonesty in the form of plagiarism, followed by sensationalistic weather forecasters
If you could only have one thing to eat, what would it be?
Chicken parmesan over pasta, followed by peanut M&M's
