Alex T. Turner '18
Individualized major in History and Philosophy
“Altogether I have greatly cherished my time at Catawba because my experiences and involvement have crafted me into a stronger leader, an inquisitive scholar, and an all-around better person.”
A member of the College Honors Program, Alex was one of only nine students in the Class of 2018 who researched, wrote and presented an honors thesis. His was titled, “The Path to Virtue: An Analysis of Ancient Chinese Views of Virtue, and War in the Dao de Jing and the Analects.” He was also the male recipient of the prestigious Whitener Award, given annually to a male and female in the graduating class who exemplify Scholarship, Character, Culture and Service.
