Resources for Catawba College Mathematics Students
Mathematics undergrads at Catawba College can participate in the Math Club and Kappa Mu Epsilon, an honor society in Mathematics. Additionally, Catawba students participate in Hack-A-Thons, particularly ones held in nearby Charlotte, N.C.
Catawba's Mathematics Club exists to support interaction between students and faculty outside of the classroom. The elected student officers of the club, together with the faculty advisors, structure meetings and talks to encourage fellowship among students with common interests, to inform about application to graduate school, to discuss employment opportunities for mathematics majors, and to hear mathematical talks at the undergraduate level.
The club also encourages and supports students who wish to attend and participate in Mathematics Conferences throughout the region.
Catawba students who may find themselves struggling to crunch those numbers can take advantage of the Math Center. The student workers in the Math Center have the ability to help with any and all level math classes.
Mathematics Honor Society
The Catawba College Chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honor society, inducts new members each spring in a ceremony held in Ketner Hall on campus.
