We accept either ACT or SAT results and will honor the higher of the two if both are submitted. We will super-score tests taken multiple times. Official test scores should be sent from the College Board or ACT Testing Center directly or included with official high school transcript. We also offer a Test Optional Admission Program for students with a minimum 3.25 weighted GPA who feel their test scores do not accurately reflect their academic ability.

- SAT: 5103

Fall Application Dates
Our priority admission deadline is November 1, but admission to Catawba is rolling. We encourage students to apply for admission as soon as possible during the summer immediately preceding or the fall of their senior year of high school. As space in the class becomes limited, admission to Catawba can become more selective. Any applications received after November 1, will be considered on a space available basis.
Our priority financial aid deadline is February 1. Students applying for financial aid after February 1 will be considered based on availability.
Students hoping to be considered for McCorkle Scholarship of Academic Distinction or Spirit of Catawba scholarship competitions should apply for admission as early as possible, but must be accepted for admission no later than November 1 for consideration for the McCorkle Scholarship Competition or February 22 for consideration of Spirit of Catawba Competition. Learn more about nominating students for the Spirit of Catawba Scholarship.
Official high school transcripts should be sent to Catawba College - Office of Admissions, 2300 W Innes St, Salisbury NC 28144. Transcripts will also be accepted through Docufied/Naviance or CFNC. First term or first semester grades from a student's senior year might be requested in order to make a more informed admission decision. Final transcripts are required post-high school graduation to finalize admission.
Optional Application Materials
Letters of recommendation are recommended. Essay/graded paper is required for Test Optional Admission, optional for standard admission.
Additional Materials Requested
Students who are not immediately admissible to Catawba are referred to the Admissions Committee for review. These students receive a status of “Additional Materials Requested” and are asked to submit one or more of the following additional items:
- A graded paper form the junior or senior year
- Mid-year senior grades
- Personal Statement
