The Catawba College esports gaming labs (esports arenas) are located in the Cannon Student Center, the hub of student activities. This space features two state-of-the-art facilities including gaming desks, peripherals, and PCs. The spaces include a game day viewing area with a video wall accessible to all on campus, as well as a community-focused game lounge that will include both retro and modern game options for play.
Catawba College offers an esports program as part of its athletics offerings for the 2018-2019 academic year.
With the addition of our esports program, Catawba joined over 60 other colleges and universities offering the program that has become the world’s fastest-growing spectator sport.
The addition of esports allows us to meet our students from all majors and academic areas where their interests are and provides our current and future student-athletes with a new and exciting intercollegiate sport.

The Catawba College Esports program nurtures player development through playoff appearances, championships, and player placement into professional organizations, teams, and conferences. Games represented include Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, and more.
