The 1st CLASS Act Dinner was a very successful event. We had 125 attendees, including the head coaches of our women’s athletic teams and their senior student-athletes. A special recognition for former Catawba Softball/Field Hockey and Catawba Sports Hall of Fame member, coach Nan Whitley, was given by Shari Graham. The keynote speaker was Selena Wilkes, former Catawba College Volleyball, Softball, and Basketball student-athlete and Catawba Sports Hall of Fame member. The event initially raised around $32,000, but a challenge to raise another $3,000 at the event resulted in a donor gift of an additional $15,000. Our total for the night tallied up to $53,000 - to be used for our women’s athletic teams at Catawba. It was a hugely successful night for Catawba’s women’s athletics!
