Some Very Strong Catawba Connections
Tim Chappell '74, jersey number 61, was the starting left guard for Catawba’s football team beginning his sophomore season of 1971 through his senior season of 1973. He played on the same offensive line for two years with future NFL player and Catawba Football hall of famer David Taylor. Tim helped anchor an offensive line that would one day send four offensive backs to the Catawba Sports Hall of Fame. Special thanks to Ron Adams ’76 and Catawba Football Coach Curtis Walker ‘93 for helping make this special happen.
