Here we go again: Catawba Chiefs Club 2019-2020! For the past two years, OUR Chiefs Club membership has been over 500 members. This year, our goal is to have over 750 Chiefs Club members. We need the support from our past Chiefs Club members, as well as our former student-athletes.
We also have a Chiefs Club Challenge from our Catawba Board of Trustees Chair Bill Graham, who is also a former student-athlete at Catawba College.
From Bill Graham: In an effort to support and help the Chief's Club grow, I will contribute $100 (unrestricted) for every new Chief's Club member added from now until September 10th, 2019 in order to get to 600 members. After the 600 number has been reached, I will contribute $200 to the Chief's Club for every new member thereafter and $300 for each member over the 750 membership number. This offer expires October 1st, 2019. A new member is defined as anyone that has not been a Chiefs Club member for at least one year.
Our Chiefs Club membership is growing. Forward this email to anyone you think would be interested in helping support OUR Catawba Chiefs Club.
Over 525 current Catawba student-athletes, 23 varsity teams, two JV teams, 117 athletic scholarships, a weekly Chiefs Club newsletter, and your gift to the Catawba Chiefs Club is tax-deductible. The funds raised by the Catawba Chiefs Club help support the 117 athletic scholarships that Catawba College offers.
Our Chiefs Club pre-game hospitality was sold out, and every seat taken. Our group is definitely growing!
We will increase our next event's seating by three tables and 24 seats. We will also increase our meal numbers from 100 to 120.
September 28th 5:30pm – 6:30pm: kCatered by our own Chiefs Club Board member Jason Smith and his Silver Spoon Catering.
Our Chiefs Club tent was also very successful. We picked up at least 10 new Chiefs Club members and will do that again for our September 28th game. It is the only night game of the year - plus, there will be fireworks afterwards!
We will also have our 1000th Catawba Football game shirts, sponsored by Davis & Davis Law Firm. Purchase shirts at the Chiefs Club tent for $20.
1000th Football Game: This year, when Catawba Football hosts Lenoir-Rhyne, it will be the 1000th football game for Catawba College.
We will be selling special 1000th Football Game t-shirts, sponsored by Davis & Davis Attorneys at Law, starting at the first home game up until our 1000th game with Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
You can purchase your Catawba 1000th football game t-shirt at the Chiefs Club membership tent or at the pre-game hospitality in the gym lobby for current Chiefs Club members. Shirts are $20.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the television broadcast of the Catawba Football games, game times have been changed:
- September 28th – 7:00pm
- October 19th – 12:00pm
- October 26th – 1:30pm
- November 16th – 12:00pm
It is a very special day when we have one of our Catawba graduates who is a former student-athlete and new member for our Catawba Chiefs Club - Raymond Daniels '91. Daniels was a member of the Catawba Football team and a teammate of current Catawba head coach Curtis Walker. Thanks for your support and helping us get one step closer to our goal of 750 Chiefs Club members.

“Mrs. Linda Barnes Hunt '60 is a first time Catawba Chiefs Club member. Her granddaughter Merionne Hunt '23 is a sophomore on the Catawba Women’s Tennis team. To top it off, Mrs. Hunt was my freshman high school history teacher back in 1981. One of the very best teachers I ever had.” - Jeff Childress
This year, Catawba Athletics will partner up with Food Lion for their SACK to Give Back program. Every SACK is a SACK to Give Back this season! Food Lion Feeds will donate 1,000 meals each time Catawba makes a SACK! We will also partner with Food Lion for two home games for their Forgot It We Got It promo. Details coming soon...
For the 10th year in a row, the Catawba Baseball team has volunterred at Oak Park Retirement Center with their annual dance. Good job, Catawba Baseball!
