Make a Gift for the 2020 Catawba Day of Giving on October 13th.

Mr. Floyd Burton passed away on Friday October 9th. He was 100 and was also probably the longest standing member of our Catawba Chiefs Club. He did not miss many Catawba Basketball, Baseball, or Football games, Especially baseball since his grandson Bubba Morris played for Catawba. Mr. Burton was also a member of our Chiefs Club Board for several years and also served as the President of our Catawba Chiefs Club.

He definitely was one of the biggest supporters of Catawba Athletics and one of the good guys. Below is a picture when he was still attending Catawba home basketball games at 100 years old with both of his daughters.

Thanks to former Catawba Soccer Player Bradley Wylde ’96 for his support of OUR Catawba Chiefs Club. Bradley is currently the Executive Director of The Charlotte Soccer Academy.

Thanks to former Catawba Football player Shawn Sanders ’02. Shawn is married to former Catawba student Tameka Sanders. They have three children, one of whom attends Ohio State University. Shawn works in the IT field for the Department of Labor in Washington, DC. He is active in his community coaching youth football as well as mentoring local youth.
