Scheduled Network Downtime

IT personnel will be installing new networking equipment and performing maintenance on existing equipment on the following days/times:
Friday, July 14 (noon - 11:59 pm)
Friday, July 21 (12 noon - 11:59 pm)
Friday, July 28 (noon - 11:59 pm)
What to expect during this scheduled network downtime:
On-campus, you will experience disruption of or total loss of network services. Impacted services include wireless internet access, access to network drives, Blackboard, CatLink, Banner, Cognos, Recruit, and all other network-based systems. Off-campus, you will experience disruption of or total loss of access to all Catawba-hosted systems such as Blackboard and CatLink.
The Catawba website, Office365 email, and CRM Recruit will continue to function off-campus. On-campus you will only be able to access email from your smartphone cell signal until campus network access is restored. To access email from off-campus while CatLink is down, open a browser and go to www.outlook.com/catawba.edu.
You may continue to work on your computer in workstation-only mode as you are not connected to the network in this mode. Make sure that you save the files you want to work with in workstation-only mode on your local hard drive or other local media prior to the scheduled service interruption. If you have a local printer connected directly to your computer, you will be able to print to it, but network printing will be unavailable.
What if I experience service problems after the scheduled downtime has completed?
If you experience any problems after the scheduled downtime completes, first be sure that you have rebooted your computer. If the problem continues after reboot, check the systems status line at 704-637-4666 for the latest information on the status of network and system services, as the problem you are experiencing may be a system-wide problem that IT is already aware of and working on. Otherwise, please report the problem to the IT help desk.
