My experience in Portugal was life changing because I had never traveled internationally and Europe really opened my eyes.
While in Portugal, the class toured the capital city of Lisbon, strolled through the streets of Porto, with a visit to the Porto Cathedral, a Romanesque church and landmark of the city for more than 800 years, and explored Peneda Geres, Portugal’s only national park.
The Center for International Studies helped with funding, but also supported me in my travels. Before I came to Catawba, international travel wasn’t really an option or even on my mind at all. I am very thankful for what the Center has done for me. I am not afraid to travel anymore, and I’m excited to see what the world has in store for me now.
