The 2014-2015 Noyce Scholar Cohort completed a teambuilding retreat September 18-20, 2014 at Atlantic Beach/Beaufort, NC. The Noyce Scholars for 2014-2015 are Cody Braden, Bethany Davis, Kristin Ferebee, and Brinsley Stewart.  Dr. Connie Lowery, director of the Noyce Grant, Dr. Cyndi Osterhus, Professor Emeritis and Teresa Weddington, Noyce Grant Project Manager also attended.

Dr. Osterhus directed the teambuilding for the scholars which included a variety of activities to promote effective teaching and leadership.

noyceblog14k.jpgStudents also enjoyed a trip to Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium which included a behind the scenes tour.  Students were surprised when Kyra Thurow, a 2013 Catawba Environmental Science graduate employed by the aquarium as part of their Educational Outreach program,  directed part of their tour.  A memorable part of the tour was when students got to feed the big fish such as groupers and barracudas and were allowed to watch the sharks being fed!

Cody Braden, a 2014-2015 Noyce Scholar who attended the retreat stated that "the retreat was arguably the greatest college moment I have ever had."
