Psi Chi Volunteers at Haunted Roots Festival
November 5, 2017
On Saturday, October 28th, members of Psi Chi (international honor society for psychology) volunteered at Happy Roots during the Haunted Roots Festival. The event was open to the public and offered live music, food, games for children, face painting, local arts and crafts vendors, and a ghost walk. Psi Chi members were responsible for the ghost walk. They dressed up as "ghosts" of people buried in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, such as Suzanne Kaaren Blackmer. Psi Chi advisor Dr. Amy Holmes led community members through the cemetery and the "ghosts" gave brief histories of their lives.
Happy Roots is a "non-profit organization providing nature-based therapeutic and educational services to enhance the wellness of the community and the environment" located in Salisbury.
