SNCAE Halloween Events
November 4, 2016
Catawba College’s Students of North Carolina Association of Educators (SNCAE) successfully collected a total of 875 pounds of food on Halloween night. All of the food was donated to Rowan Helping Ministries to assist those in need this winter season. SNCAE dropped off specially marked bags to the Fulton Heights neighborhood in Salisbury and returned on Halloween night to pick up the bags that were full and to set up a table for the young trick-or-treaters who wanted their faces painted.
"We would like to thank everyone who donated food, supplies, and their kindness. We would also like to thank the members of SNCAE who willingly donated their free time to help us collect the bags of food and painted faces on Halloween night. As a club, all we want is to help out in the world, even if it means we start in our own backyard. The simple fact that we can change one person’s life by helping them feed their family is enough joy for us." says Vice President/Treasurer Megan Hampton.
For the last 15 years, SNCAE has collected canned goods to help give back to the community. They hope to continue the event for years to come to help those who benefit from it the most!
