BLOG: A Summer Abroad in London

Studying abroad has long been a dream of mine, but it was a sort of daydream: it seemed like something grand that happened to others, but not to me. This all changed last year, when I won the Hurley Scholarship and decided to spend the summer in London with a program called USAC.
As the time approached, I was filled with excitement and apprehension in equal measure. To be absolutely honest, there was some part of me that — up until I stepped on the plane in Greensboro — was uncertain whether I’d be brave enough to do it at all.
By the Numbers
Five Catawba students participated in semester long study abroad programs though the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) agreement with Catawba College. These five students studied in the following countries: England, France, Ireland and Korea.
Percentage of 2019 Catawba graduates that participated in a travel course during their time at Catawba college: 33.5%
Percentage of 2019 Catawba graduates that traveled abroad during their time at Catawba College: 13%
