Catawba College Honors Retirees and Employees for Years of Service

Catawba College recognized three retirees along with eight employees for their years of service, presenting them with commemorative gifts during their annual Faculty and Staff Luncheon on April 27.

Penny Rice, executive assistant of the Lilly Center, is retiring from Catawba after 35 years; Susan Agner, senior programmer, joined the College in 1985 and held various positions before her retirement. Dr. Kenneth Clapp, Chaplain and Senior Vice President is retiring after 33 years. He was granted emeriti status by the Board of Trustees at their April meeting.

Employees who were recognized for years of service through May 2022 include:

Five Years: Duane Aagaard, associate professor of sport management; Jennifer Klebaur, assistant professor of psychology; Albert Rush, environmental services technical; and Jean Bowers, environmental services technician.

Ten Years: Jeff Little, popular music faculty/artist in residence and Steffanie West, director of IT operations/project manager.

Twenty Years: Jamie Slate, associate professor of economics; and Brenda Jones, accounts payable specialist.
