Catawba College Hosts Special Day for RCCC's Early College Students
March 21, 2011
Early college students enrolled at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will visit Catawba College's campus for Campus to Campus Day 2011 Friday, March 25. The event will be an opportunity for this special population of students to experience what Catawba has to offer and to interact with Catawba's faculty, staff and students.
Lois Williams, Catawba's vice president of enrollment, said the day would offer students an opportunity to see how Catawba can assist them in pursuing their baccalaureate degree after they complete coursework or their associate degree at RCCC. "We have structured the day so students are divided into groups based on their class years, as freshmen, sophomores or juniors," she said. "We realize that not all students in the Early College program have the same perspective regarding how to leverage their time at the community college into a four-year degree program. We welcome the opportunity to discuss their options with them."
Catawba's Campus to Campus Day 2011 begins at 10 a.m. and wraps up at 2 p.m. in the Omwake-Dearborn Chapel. The day includes a tour of campus, the opportunity to attend a class taught by a Catawba faculty member, a lunch and mingle with college representatives, and presentations on Admissions and Student Life.
Williams noted that Early College program students interested in pursuing a baccalaureate degree at Catawba should contact the Office of Admissions at (704) 637-4402 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
