cover-preview2019.jpgCatawba College is again cited as one of the nation’s best colleges in The Princeton Review Best 384 Colleges guide 2019 edition.

“We are delighted that Catawba College is perennially noted as an excellent institution to earn an undergraduate degree,” shared Catawba President Brien Lewis.  “We continue to develop and offer new academic programs in response to students’ desires and employers’ needs. Our inclusion in a college guide such as this affirms that we are charting an academic course that consistently transforms and inspires students to develop into the best versions of themselves on a diverse and inclusive campus where they can belong.”

Catawba’s profile in the publications includes a Green rating of 97 out of possible scores ranging from 60-99, up from a 94 Green rating in 2018, and an 86 Quality of Life rating for campus life, consistent with the 2018 rating for the same. Business Administration, Education, Sport and Health Sciences, Performing Arts, and Science were cited as the most popular academic majors at the college.

Catawba students who were surveyed for the “Students Say” section of Catawba’s profile in the guide, reported “a strong community of teachers, faculty, and students with a common goal of excellence in education.”  Catawba students noted their professors have a passion for their subject matter and “always make sure the student understand the material,” and enjoy conversing with interested, engaged students both in and out of class.”

Regarding life on campus, Catawba students surveyed said activities are offered on campus that provide the “opportunity to find a place where they can grow.”

In the “Inside Word” section of Catawba’s profile, the guide shared this advice:

Since Catawba competes for students with several top regional schools,

students who may not have been the highest achievers in high school but

are ready to excel at the college level should put Catawba on their list.

Catawba’s application is free for students who apply online via the school’s

own application or the Common Application, and offers a test-optional

application option for students with a 3.25 GPA or higher.

The Princeton Review Best 384 Colleges rankings are based on surveys of 138,000 students at 384 top colleges that includes a wide representation by region, size, selectivity and character.
