Dr. Barry SangOn Sunday, Sept. 30, Catawba College Professor of Religion, Dr. Barry Sang, was the inaugural speaker in Salisbury's First United Methodist Church's new Preaching and Teaching Mission.

The program is endowed by Margaret Parker, one of Dr. Sang's former students, in memory of her husband, Carl. Dr. Sang preached at both morning services and his sermon was titled "A Different Jesus." He presented a 4 p.m. lecture, "Different Pictures of Jesus," which focused on the different understandings of Jesus' meaning found in early (i.e., pre-Nicea) Christianity.
