IMG_4977.JPGCatawba College chemistry students and faculty were among the thousands of chemical professionals attending the 255th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS) held during March in New Orleans, La.

Thematically focused on food, energy and water, this year’s national meeting was an opportunity for faculty and students alike to share their passion for true science and chemistry.  New Orleans, celebrating its 300th anniversary as a city, became the host to the world’s largest scientific society, ACS, and gave participants a chance to learn about the ever-changing global economy, to witness some advancements in scientific innovation, and to network with like-minded peers.

Catawba College chemistry faculty attendees included Drs. Richard Macri, Carol Ann Miderski and ChaMarra Saner. Catawba College student presenters included Accola Hudson of Randleman; Hannah Przlemonski of Rocky Mount; Devan Shell of Ferguson; Macayla Upright of Salisbury; Ashley Wagoner or Roaring River; and Trevor Williams of Mount Pleasant.
