October 26, 2015
Do you want to expand your knowledge about how to use the arts in more intentional ways to impact your church and surrounding community?
Then join us for a Worship Arts Masterclass, “Curating Creativity Through the Church,” on Friday, October 30 (3:00 PM) in Tom Smith Auditorium of Ketner Hall at Catawba College. Sponsored by Catawba Worship Arts, this event will feature guest speaker, Jerry Skaggs.
Jerry is a worship leader, speaker, producer, visionary director and champion for the power of the arts and artists in the local church. He has ministered in various churches across America for more than 19 years as music pastor and artistic director. In 2005 he moved to Concord, NC to serve the great multi-campus congregation of Concord First Assembly. As the head worship and arts pastor at cfa, Jerry leads the congregation in weekly worship experiences, designs, produces and directs multiple dramatic productions every year, motivates a multi-campus music and arts staff and oversees the discipleship and deployment of several hundred volunteers and teams.
Jerry has been passionately dedicated to the development of future generations through Fine Arts for over 20 years and in 2007 he created the faith-based Intune School of the Arts and began the highly successful summer program, SMACK (Summer Music and Arts Camp for Kids).
Jerry will share his expertise through an inspirational and practical session on how reclaiming the arts can impact your church and the community around you.
This exciting event is FREE and open to anyone who is interested in cultivating more creative opportunities in the church.
