Players Gather for Mini-Golf Tourney for the Blind

Don Srail, a Rowan County resident who lives just outside of Salisbury, said it best when he described the purpose of Saturday's annual Statewide Putt Putt Tournament for the Blind and Visually Impaired:
"We encourage each other a lot more than what doctors can do or pills can do."
Srail, who is legally blind, was one of 78 players from 14 North Carolina counties who participated in the event at Dan Nicholas Park.
With the help of volunteers from Catawba College and Livingstone College, players made shots that would be difficult for people with perfect eyesight, and enjoyed themselves while doing it. Read More...
