;;;Catawba College psychology professor, Dr. Sheila Brownlow, and several of her students traveled to the 55th annual meeting of the Southeastern Psychological Association held Feb. 18-21 in New Orleans, La. While there, the students presented peer-reviewed research in interactive poster sessions.

Students attending included seniors Amanda Kanoy of Thomasville, Danielle Schneider of New Castle, Del., Jessica Davison of Springfield, Pa., Katrina Pergerson of Spring Lake and junior Lauren Graham of Salisbury.

Research entitled "Can external justification for performance obviate stereotype threat effects?" was completed by students Amanda Kanoy and senior Beverly Jordan of Salisbury with Dr. Brownlow. Research entitled "Do name cues to ethnicity affect judgments of criminality?" was completed by students Lauren Graham, senior Kira Capano of Raynham, Mass., Danielle Schneider and Jessica Davison with Dr. Brownlow.
