Dr. Christina Bissada joined Catawba College's Teacher Education program in August of 2019. Dr. Bissada earned her PhD in Mathematics and Statistics Education from NC State University. Prior to that, she earned her BA in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University and her MAT from North Carolina State University. She taught high school mathematics in Johnston County of North Carolina.
She is passionate about preparing the next generation of mathematics teachers to teach a subject many students have learned to fear. Her research is focused particularly on statistics education and developing teacher self-efficacy to teach statistics. She also has experience in applying best practices for online education and preparing prospective teachers to teach mathematics and statistics using technology.
