Replacement Fines & Fees
Library items have various overdue fines, so please see our loan policies chart for individual fines. However, all items (excluding laptops, headphones, external DVD drives, and the flash drive) are held to the following replacement policy for students.
- If an item is not returned by the end of the semester, the patron is charged:
- a minimum of $25.00 for the replacement cost
- a non-refundable $25.00 processing fee
- all overdue fines, if applicable
- If an item is returned within six months of the due date:
- the replacement cost will be refunded, but all other charges will remain
- If an item is returned six months after the due date, the patron is responsible for all charges.
Laptops
Laptops operate on a separate replacement policy. If a laptop has not been returned within five days of its due date, it is considered lost, and the patron will be charged an administrative fee of $25, replacement fees of up to $1880, as well as $50 in overdue fines (total of $1955). If the laptop is returned within 30 days of the due date and in proper working order, the replacement costs will be refunded. If a laptop is returned on time, but one of the items below is missing or damaged, the patron will be responsible for the individual replacement cost. The replacement costs are as follows:
- Laptop: $1800
- Charger: $60
- Laptop Bag: $20
Headphones, External DVD Drive, USB Drive
If headphones, an external DVD drive, or the USB drive have not been returned within ten days of their due date, they are considered lost, and the patron will be charged an administrative fee of $25, a replacement fee (listed below), and $10 in overdue fines (minimum total of $55). If the items are returned within 30 days of the due date and in proper working order, the replacement costs will be refunded. If the items are returned by their due date, but are returned damaged, the patron may still be responsible for the applicable replacement fee (listed below).
- Headphones: $25
- External DVD Drive: $35
- USB Drive: $20
