Dr. Aisha Adams earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Florida and earned her PhD & MS from the University of Georgia. Her research interests focus on ways our previous memories and our perceptions (what we think we see) influence each other and may affect other behavioral and thought processes. She is especially interested in how these mnemonic and perceptual aspects might affect learning in a classroom, either from the influence of external stimuli (e.g., emotional objects "distracting" us) or by fostering more effective learning strategies (i.e., metacognition).

Dr. Adams serves as co-Faculty Advisor for the Psi Chi International Honor Society Club, and has supervised the attendance of over a dozen psychology majors to regional psychology conferences. Dr. Adams works to promote equity and diversity among the faculty and student body. She teaches courses in General Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Memory, Research Methods, and other selected topics in psychology.
